Conversations with Kade

Today on Facebook, I posted something that Kade had said and someone commented, saying they hoped I was writing those kinds of things down. I need to do that more or I will forget. The thing that I posted today was this-- ME: Look at you cuties! KADE: We not cuties! Dis baby booey and dis Kade Allen BOBA! My favorite things that Kade says are when he's praising the Lord. One morning this week, he sat up in bed and loudly exclaimed, "In my life, Jee-juh! More of You, Jee-juh! You are da One, You are da hoooooly One!" He knows almost every song on the Passion 2012: White Flag CD and he knows Who he is singing about. Speaking of God, around Easter, we had been talking about Jesus dying on the cross and Kade was telling me about it one day in the kitchen. I said, "Tell your brother about Jesus." He told Luke that Jesus died on the cross because He loved us and then I said, "And where did Jesus go? Where does he live?" Kade quickly said: "The Island of Sodor!" He loves Thomas the Tank Engine and knows all of the characters and songs. He even knows the intro at the beginning of the episodes. He's such a smart boy! He now knows that God and Jesus live in heaven, though. Kade has lots of good ideas. Most of them have to do with playing at the park or eating ice cream, but he always prefaces it with, "Hey, mommy! I haf a goot idea!" Just so I don't remember him as a perfect angel (even though he is), we were at the grocery store buying ice cream last week and Michael grabbed a box of cones and handed them to Kade. Then, he realized he got the wrong cones and tried to get them back. Kade started screaming that he wanted an ice cream come and was throwing a fit. Michael said, "But Kade, these are the big ice cream cones! We're getting the big ones!" Kade started screaming, "No!! I just want a small ice cream cone! Just a small one!" Last weekend, he decided out of the blue that he wanted Lucky Charms. He kept saying, "I want Lucky Charms! I just want a small Lucky Charms!" We decided to go out and eat Chinese and the whole way there, he kept asking if we were going to get Lucky Charms. Right now, Kade loves telling everyone that they're his best buddy. His daddy, brother, Gagi, Papa, Mamaw, Papaw. And I are all his best buddies. I love feeling those little arms around my neck and hearing that sweet voice say, "I love you, mommy. You my beeeest buddy!"
